To describe the profile of infants followed up at a physiotherapeutic follow-up clinic for discharged patients from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Santa Casa de Uruguaiana/RS. Quantitative, observational and cross-sectional study, the variables collected were: sex, date of birth, gestational age, birth weight, type of delivery, mother's age, mother's history and neonatal complications. To assess motor performance, the Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS) was used. The sample consisted of 49 infants discharged from the NICU, 67.3% male. Univariate analysis indicated a higher risk of atypical motor development among boys (PR:1.15, p=0.33). The infants in our sample have more than one risk factor associated with development, the greater the cumulative effect of the risks, the greater the chances of having unfavorable outcomes.
