OVERVIEW OF FRUIT CULTURE IN GOIÁS:
A STUDY BASED ON IBGE DATA
Abstract
The present work focuses on the development of fruit growing in the State of Goiás, between the years 2006 to 2022. Data collection was carried out through data obtained from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), and as variables used were the amount produced in the fields, the value of the production, and the harvested area. The commercial results to which the production of Goiás is a State, however, the cultivation of these fruits walks at a slow pace and some fruits have stopped at the level The fruits most attention in the state are watermelon and orange. ‘Jabuticaba’ appears as a promising crop at the national level, since Goiás is already the largest producer of fruit in Brazil, however, to reach expressive levels nationally, it lacks investment and more producers adhering to the culture. In this study, it will be possible to gather some more recent information on the national fruit industry, to serve as a basis and aid in works and projects that involve the economy, production, and fruit trees in the State of Goiás.
