Abstract

The desert rose (Adenium obesum) is a plant of the Apocynaceae’s family, which has high ornamental value, being widely used in landscaping for the purpose of decorating indoor spaces and environments. However, it still has smallscientific information to guarantee the adoption of an efficient standard system for the production of seedlings of this species. Thus, the objective was to study the rooting of desert rose cuttings as a function of curing time and treatment of cuttings with IBA and cinnamon powder. The experiment was carried out from June to October 2021, in the city of Paranaíba – MS.The design was completely randomized, in a 3 x 4 factorial arrangement, being respectively, three curing times (0, 3 and 6 days), for four cuttings treatment, composed by the combination of powdered cinnamon (with and without), and of  IBA phytohormone (with and without). After the period of 119, the seedlings were evaluated and analyzed for the percentage of survival variables of cuttings, percentage of rooted cuttings, average number of roots per cutting, length of longest root, average number of leaves, fresh matter of leaves, stems and roots.
