Abstract

The increased degradation of a soil is directly associated with the degree of intensification of agricultural activities and the adoption of monoculture systems of exploitation, which may cause several problems to arable systems. It is important to seek sustainable production practices, and in order to make the best management practice decision, the conditions of the site must be previously diagnosed. There are several diagnostic methods, including visual analysis, remote sensing, chemical, structural and biological analysis of the soil, after the recovery of the area is implemented. The main systems employed in restoring soil attributes are green manure, crop rotation and succession, no-tillage, organic manuring and integrated systems. After the implementation of recovery methods, the monitoring of these areas is essential, so that the degradation is effectively reversed.
