Resumo

Cycling is a sport that requires When discussing the professional role of therapist as a teacher considering the societal context in which it unfolds leading to questions as to how these professionals access occurs in this career and if they are educationally prepared to exercise it or if they are aware they need acquire this preparation because of the lack of initial training. In this sense question: as the formative process of the physiotherapist and the construction of professional identity can help in overcoming the challenges posed by the teaching profession? To this end, we carried out this review article from the works, theses and dissertations on the topic being discussed, in libraries and databases, using as selection criterion authors who address the topic from a critical perspective from following analytical categories: work, education, social and cultural reproduction. What can be seen from the review carried out here is the strong presence within the educational context of rational thought in education resulting mechanistic reductionist and fragmented, and to overcome this state is necessary for the therapist as a new face teaching profession by immersing in conceptions of education so that discussions about the teaching / learning give new dimension to the understanding of the proper contents of physical therapy and that the teacher/student ratio is built on new nuancenuances that do not involve authoritarianism.
